9th January -Club AGM

1st January - New Years Day Walk A walk led by Keith Butler will leave from Ockley Station at 10.00 am. Lunch will be at the Scarlet Arms, Walliswood at approx 12.00 pm. All are welcome, please contact Keith for further details.

2011

13th December - Club Darts Championship The championship takes place at the Lindfield Sports & Social Club, Lindfield Road, Addiscombe, East Croydon, Surrey CR9 1HE and starts at 8.00 pm.

18th December - Downhill Competition and Christmas Lunch. The Downhill takes place on the traditional Tilburstow Hill. John Dennis has put up a first prize of £100.00. In view of the value of the prize the committee has decided that only standard road bikes equipped with standard wheels must be used and that both wheels of the bike must be in contact with the road at all times during the event. There are also 2 prizes for the best Downhill / Hill Climb combined result, calulated on points.

This is followed by lunch at The Inn on the Pond PH, Nutfield Marsh Road, Nutfield. Advance payment is required to reserve your place(s) at this popular event (£20,00 /2 courses or £25.00 /3 courses). Contact Simon Richardson. Note: Lunch is now fully booked and if you haven't paid before the event your place will be given to a reserve.

Darts Schedule & Venues for 2011/12

12th November - Dinner & Prize Presentation, venue booked and guests invited. All that’s needed is your company to celebrate club champions, trophy winners and the year’s achievements by our riders. It is hoped to keep ticket cost to that of last year, £30.00. Contact Simon Richardson to reserve a seat for yourself and a guest(s).

30th October - Inter-Club Map Reading Competition This year's event is being hosted by the Paragon starting at 10.00am and be based at the Surrey Oaks PH, Parkgate, Surrey. Please contact Keith Butler for further details.

16th October - Off Road Championship - This year's Championship uses the first event in the Gorrick Autumn series Tunnel Hill - Mytchett Place Road, West Mytchett, Surrey. Location. Those intending to compete for the championship should enter the Open event, the entry must be in name of the club. Any kit can be used but club colours are preferred.

16th - 18th October Club walking weekend is based Symonds Yat West, Whitchurch, Herefordshire. Contact John Pocock.

16th September - Club Curry Night The next Paragon social event is a little under one month away so it’s time to start thinking about what strength of Vindaloo you’ll be wanting. The (kind-of) end of season club curry is at the Khyber restaurant in Croydon. Pre-dinner tipple in the Half and Half pub next door from 6pm onwards. Contact Simon Richardson

A real MTB Downhill race!

3rd September - President's "12" The event is over 2 laps of the Crowhurst circuit and starts at 10.30am. The race incorporates the club's Circuit TT Championship, there is also a trophy for the fastest non-racing member and a handicap prize(s).

16th August - Evening TT; Event 10 is the last in the series and is on the Bletchingley course starting at 19.15. Contact Peter Ansell

24th July - Club 100 Mile Time Trial This is for the Goss Green Trophy and is incorporated with the SCCU 100 on the G50/60. Enter direct to SCCU by the 12th July and let Dave Kennett know that you have entered. James Stuart wins club 100 with a sub 4 hour ride Result

19th July - Inter-club TT against the Addiscombe CC ***Cancelled due to roadworks on the evening*** The event is now on the Holmwood course with a start time of 19.40. Club handicap

Club Kit An order has been placed for skinsuits and gilets, there will be some spares in popular sizes held in stock. A top up for jerseys and bib shorts was also included. Delivery is expected at the end of July. Club kit

5th July - Inter-club TT against the Addiscombe CC ***Cancelled due to bad weather, hopefully to be re-run on the 19th July*** The Paragon won last year's team race and we have chosen the Bletchingley circuit for is year's event with a start time of 19.50. 19th June - Club 50 Time Trial This is for the Fryco Cup and is incorporated with the SCCU 50 on the G50/53. Enter direct to SCCU and let Dave Kennett know that you have entered.

12th June - Club BBQ A change of location and date for this year's event. Stephen Roach has offered the used of his place and hopefully the weather will be warmer than in recent years. Start 5.00pm with food being served at 6.00pm. Ideal timing for those of you who are racing. Please contact organiser Simon Richardson to reserve one of 50 places. Car parking in Stephen's field.

31st May - Evening TT Fifth event in the season long competition and is on the Newdigate circuit; start 19.30. Details of the series can be found under Club Events. Please let Peter Ansell know if you are intending to ride.

24th May - Evening TT Fourth event in the season long competition and is to be held in conjunction with the Epsom CC on the Rusper Course; start 19.30. Riders will be set off at 30 second intervals and the timekeeper has asked for as many rider's names as possible in advance of the day. Please let Peter Ansell know by Sunday evening if you are intending to ride. Details of the series can be found under Club Events.

17th May - Evening TT Third event in the season long competition and is to be held on the Bletchingley Circuit; start 19.30. Details of the series can be found under Club Events. 8th May - Robin Buchan Memorial 25 Mile Time Trial Result and Mayne Cup Result

8th May - Robin Buchan Memorial 25 Mile Time Trial Due to continuing roadworks in the Moorhead area of Horsham the club has had to move the event to the G25/45, which starts at Kingsfold. The HQ remains the same but riders will need to leave at least 15 minutes to get to the start. Startsheet

8th May - Robin Buchan Memorial 25 Mile Time Trial The event HQ is Broadbridge Heath Village Hall, starting at 06.30.
Mayne Cup: Also up for grabs are 2 club trophies for members only. The Mayne Cup - handicap time & Imperial Wheelers Cup - fastest actual time.

17th April - Les Ingman Memorial Road Race Result and Pictures

16th April - At long last the supply of Aiireator socks and Slipstream oversocks bearing the club logo and bands has arrived.Orders will be dispatched in the next couple of days. Extra Aireator socks and SlipStreams oversocks are being held in stock, so there are plenrty for those need them. Club socks, updated design

4th April - Arthur Rayner Once again I am sorry to report the death of a long time friend of the Paragon.

31st March - Dan Burgess I am sorry to report that Dan recently died and the funeral will be held on the 31st March. Funeral details

2nd April - Club Anniversary Ride A repeat of last year’s successful ride. This easy ride is for all members out to Headley via Epsom Downs to celebrate the club's 107th birthday. Meet 10.00am Purley Library, lunch at the Cock Inn Headley. If you cannot get there by bike then meet us at the pub for lunch.
