Butler win's President's 12

Created by Peter Ansell at 2017-09-14 09:34:39

Gethin Butler took the circuit time trial championship title back to Preston with him after soundly beating the Surrey and London-based Paragons.

Butler, on a visit back south to celebrate his father's birthday, donned an ancient 'yellow brick road' Paragon skinsuit that had to be safety-pinned up since the zip was so perished and blasted round the two-lapper on his road bike to beat Jon Masters by 1:12.

Louis Digance, riding his first time trial, finished a creditable third, with Duncan Murdoch 17 seconds behind him.

Regular guest Chris Newberry of the Redhill CC was a hot favourite but went off course on the first lap.
